Dancer pose (Natarajasana)
Happy New Year! With the arrival of 2019, I am full of excitement to get back to the studio and practise! Nataraj is another name for the Hindu god Shiva, the Lord of Dance.
This pose strengthens the legs, improves balance and core strength, stretches the shoulders and opens the psoas muscles (hip flexors) so it can be great to counter tight hips that may have developed over the Christmas period from too much sitting!
